The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) held a timely roundtable to discuss the future of the planning system in Wales after the publication of 'Towards a Welsh Planning Act: Ensuring the Planning System Delivers' by the Independent Advisory Group in September.
It was held from 13:30 to 16:00 in Cardiff. This is the third of a TCPA Roundtable Series for 2012 on the future of Wales.
This roundtable is an opportunity for local government officers and elected members, and practitioners, involved in all aspects of the built and natural environments to discuss the key issues with guest speakers. The Roundtable is timely to allow attendees to contribute to TCPA’s submission to the Welsh Government’s forthcoming Planning White Paper and draft Planning Reform.
The roundtable was chaired by TCPA Wales Representative, Kay Powell, and included presentations from (please click on names for presentation):
Rosemary Thomas, Deputy Director of Environment and Sustainability, Welsh Government
John Davies, Chair of the Independent Advisory Group
Kieron Hyams, Arup Associate, Planning, Policy and Economics
Elwyn Thomas, Chief Executive, Planning Aid Wales
